Using the Apple Pencil with Apps

iPad Pro and apple pencil chargingEvernote, Notability, Capture Notes, and Microsoft One Note go very well with the Apple Pencil. In fact, I would say they go hand in hand.  Today, we are looking at Evernote. Evernote also works excellently with its own Pen Ultimate. However, with my entire note taking apps, I use the Apple Pencil only.

Notability is excellent for note taking and marking up PDF Documents.

So how do we use the good old Apple Pencil?  If you are using Evernote, open up a new note.

  1. Tap on the stylus at the top and a new window will open.
  2. Select the thickness that you want to have. By that I mean a thin or fat point.
  3. Start writing.

Also in Evernote, you have to type in the title with the virtual keyboard.

In two weeks we will look at using the Apple Pencil with Notability.

Here is a sample of notes I wrote in Evernote concerning today’s article.

  1. Sounds like a neat tool. I might try it sometime.

Thank you for coming by. This is one of the best tools I like about the iPad Pro. Because Apple continue to improve their products, app developers are forced to improve what they bring on the market. There are a lot of note taking apps that can now use the Apple pencil. In two weeks, I will demonstrate it with the Notability app.
